TikTok took the world by storm with its quick and quirky content uploaded by the mostly (very) young users of the platform. But is it all fun and games? Is it as innocent as it appears to be? BEUC, Europe’s consumer organisation, investigated the platform and found multiple EU consumer law breaches. To communicate the risks to a broad audience, they asked us to develop a couple of animations to be shared on social media and an in-depth publication.
We created animations that looked innocent, illustrating playing children in TikTok's prevalent colors, while adding a sense of looming danger of TikTok watching every single action of these children on their platform. We must say, we’re pretty satisfied with the result. The social media campaign was very successful with hundreds of likes and shares on Facebook and Twitter. The message was heard loud and clear!
