Is it possible in 2020 to write about being positive without offending or without turning it into a spiritual cliché? Whatever the answer, I’m willing to take the risk today and try, because it’s a subject that’s very dear to me. Especially in these times.

Am I positive … or naive?

For a long time, I considered myself to be naive, innocent, dreamy, … But then I realized nothing was wrong with me: I was just a positive being. That’s all!

I only didn’t have the necessary life experience to become aware of this positivity, to understand it, and to use it efficiently. But once I saw the light, I realized how much it has impacted my life daily. From the best to the most difficult moments.

Being an entrepreneur and/or a positive manager

Fifteen years ago, I founded Absolute Agency with Arnaud Buffet. At first, it was just a small business adventure, but soon our tiny agency grew to the point that we were able to recruit talents. And having employees means you have to communicate with them, motivate them, help them develop themselves, and much, much more!

In a fast-moving world with a healthy dose of competition, I naturally adopted a positive tone. A simple state of mind that is rooted in the following principle: behind every problem is a simple solution. You just need to be positive and simplify the problem in order to find the solution, instead of focussing too much on the problem itself.

We may have employees that are autonomous and fully capable of successfully managing their projects, we are still the energy vectors (positive or negative, enabling, limiting, or even destructive, …)If I, as a manager, am endowed with positive energy, it will take us higher and inspire others to do better and to make progress without stagnating.

Positive energy: a cure within everyone’s reach?

The reason behind this blog article is simple: positive energy is free, doesn’t require any degree, doesn’t belong to an obscure cult, and isn’t a hipster-chic trend.

It’s within everyone’s reach and you can simply start small and grow at your own pace. Of course, the objective isn’t to become Gandhi in two hours, but rather to develop some positive habits and determine for yourself if these thoughts or actions have been beneficial to your state of mind.

This kind of energy is essential. A society can’t survive without sharing, without benevolence, without listening to others.

Finding the light in the dark

These days, everything often seems bleak. But it doesn’t have to! Let’s build a positive future together. Being an optimist means taking responsibilities, knowing everyone is essential and reinventing collectively our companies and society.

If you are in a complex situation at the moment, try to change your view on the problem by reinventing yourself. I know it’s not easy, but let’s try and you’ll see that it will change your horizon!

Trying is the first step to success!
